  • Abstract:

    Map of the scaled Delta parameter, calculated from the respective Modified Soil-Adjusted Vegetation Index (MSAVI) map (IT_EP_L3_SeasonalPattern_MSAVI_2016_196) over the Italian local study area. The scaled Delta map provides a measure of the pixel’s anomaly with respect to field average. The raster data type is Float32 and the range of valid values is [−1,1], with NoData value having been set to −1024. This dataset was created in the framework of ERMES (an Earth obseRvation Model based ricE information Service), which is a FP7 Project co-funded by the European Commission with the objective of developing a prototype of downstream service dedicated to the rice sector to support authorities and farmers.

  • Data Quality: The scaled Delta map is derived from the respective MSAVI map (IT_EP_L3_SeasonalPattern_MSAVI_2016_196), calculating for each pixel p belonging to parcel f the measure tanh( (V(x)-Mean(p))/ Mean(p) ), where V(x) is the pixel’s MSAVI value and Mean(p) is the average MSAVI value over all pixels belonging to parcel f. NoData value has been set to −1024. The final product in ETRS89/LAEA projection was obtained warping the initial one (which was produced considering the original image’s WGS84/UTM32N projection), employing the nearest neighbour resampling method.
